About Graphic Design – Design is an activity of problem solving for the well-being of society and individuals. In today’s world of information and communication, everyone has to communicate and get communicated   through a wide variety of communication systems. Graphic design is the craft of creating visual content to communicate messages. Graphic designers combine text and images to communicate a message, sell a product or service, inform, educate or entertain. It is then reproduced in some flat medium (two dimensional – paper, cardboard, cloth, plastic, video, computer, or projection screen, on poster, billboard, or other signage) or in a three-dimensional form (fabricated or manufactured) in order to convey information to a targeted audience. The curriculum of Diploma in Graphic Design focuses on creating intelligent and powerful visual communication. After the training, students are ready for the field of advertising and many other commercial applications.

Exposure to students

Exposure visits – Students enjoys the various visits viz.- exhibitions, printing press, packaging industries, Workshops, museums, and many more… They are then encouraged to make documentation of their field visits. Students are exposed to the work situations and latest trends and developments.
Workshops – Students are motivated to participate in various workshops under thei experts guidance e.g. – Typography, Calligraphy, Pottery, Colour theory. Sketching, Origami, paper modelling, packaging, etc.  
Work study – Students are encouraged to study the works of modern artists, designers and masters in the field and have discussion with them. Professionals, Masters, Designers, Artists in the field are invited to interact with the students.
Drawing and Sketching – In this digital era, it’s still essential to sketch and draw ideas.  It allows students to focus on concepts and plan a direction that supports the goals of the project.
Project – Students are given a subject or a theme, and they create the project both by hand and by using computer software. They are also encouraged to pick up a problem in society, work on that problem and provide creative solutions. Students are motivated to express their own original ideas.

Career Opportunities

After the training, students are ready for the field of advertising and many other commercial applications such as Design studios, Print & publishing houses (like newspapers, magazines, etc.), Multimedia production houses, E-learning companies, Television & media companies, Website/ portal development studios, etc.
